frequently asked questions
These are the most common questions I’m asked. If you have additional questions, feel free to email me at email@example.com
WHERE CAN WE PURCHASE PRINTS?
PRINT QUALITY AND DETAILS?
My talented printer prints on archival 100% cotton fine art paper, for prints up to 30 inches and Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm or Fine Art Etching Cotton Rag 330gsm on 40-inch prints especially chosen by me, with pigment inks of the highest museum quality and standards which guarantees long-lasting colour and saturation.
All limited editions are printed to order by a local printing house and take 7-14 days to arrive back in our studio, then I scurry to package, and ship them to you asap.
SHOULD I FRAME MY PRINT?
I highly encourage framing all your original and limited-edition prints. Not only do they look incredibly beautiful framed, but it will help to protect your fresh artwork from wear and dust. I do not currently offer framing from my studio.
DO YOU SELL YOUR ARTWORK AS NFTS?
Not yet but soon. You can be informed of when this is available if you sign up to my Collectors Circle newsletter here.
CAN WE SHARE YOUR WORK?
Yes, sure you can share my work if you include my name, website: www.rebeccakingphoto.com and link to my facebook page and instagram. However, you can not use my photos without my permission in any publication. If you want permission, please use the contact page or email.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I am based in Auckland, New Zealand.
DO YOU HAVE UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS?
I will keep you posted for future shows and exhibitions on my facebook page, instagram and first to know through my Collectors Circle.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. I ship my artworks to any destination in the world.
HOW DO YOU SHIP PRINTS?
All prints are shipped rolled in hard protective mailer or tubes to ensure safe delivery and to protect your art. The tube construction also makes large image unpackaging quick and easy. If I can give you a bit of advice, open the tube and take the print out of it at your professional framing service so you will avoid print damages. I send my prints via courier. It takes around 3-5 days within NZ and 10 to 15 days internationally, depending on the destination country. See more about shipping here.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
WHAT DOES “LIMITED EDITION” MEAN?
All of my artworks are labelled as a Limited Edition. Pieces that are in a limited edition are produced in a set limited quantity. Generally, editions are 25 pieces total. Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available.
WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY?
All Limited Edition Prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). An important document for collectors to demonstrate that the item is authentic and genuine. A COA certificate proves that an artwork was created by the artist, which could be important in determining the provenance and relative value of the work. Once an edition is sold out, there will be no further duplicates.
The Certificate of Authenticity is hand signed and includes print details, title, edition, date, and personal seal, indicating that you have purchased my original work. The print is signed and editioned on the front and includes a label COA, hand-signed, numbered, titled, and dated on the backside.
WHAT DOES “ARTIST PROOF” MEAN?
The term Artist Proof is used in connection with limited edition prints. It is a common practice that an artist keeps 2 out of a limited print edition for his own use. Artist Proof prints are of exact quality, type, and media as the regular edition. An AP would be set aside and not included in the number of the limited edition print run. A fine art image will have 2 AP’s, and some of them may be made available for purchase if the rest of the edition is sold out.
WHAT DOES “UNIQUE ONE OF A KIND PIECE” MEAN?
Some of my artworks are labelled as “Edition of 1 — Unique one of a kind piece”. It is the most exclusive prints from the whole series. I do not have an Artist Proof printed in these sizes, so they are a completely unique one-of-a-kind piece.
WHO ACTUALLY OWNS THE PRINT?
I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold original and limited-edition prints. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the Collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork (this is in addition to purchasing the original or first limited edition in the series).
The Collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.
If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media I only ask for credit (and congratulations! that means your home is super beautiful!).
When you purchase an original print you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business (hooray!) but the artwork may not be reproduced without my written permission.
